Hi, I’m Matthew.
I provide online talk therapy to adults in Massachusetts as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
If you often feel worried, self-critical, vigilant or on-edge, like you’re in “survival mode”, find it challenging to assert your needs, or you don’t feel seen - Let’s talk about it.
My intention is to support you as the expert in your own life, guiding you toward your vision of the future.

My Approach
My therapeutic style is Person-Centered, Integrative, and Trauma-Informed.
Person-Centered: My intention is to provide a safe and supportive environment where challenges can be met with curiosity. I believe that we are the experts in our own lives and that the therapist can assist in gaining insight into one’s thought and behavioral patterns. One core concept of this approach is Unconditional Positive Regard where, as the therapist, I strive to meet you with empathy and non-judgment.
Integrative: No two human experiences are identical; I strive to be flexible in my approach so as to meet you where you are. While I specialize in working with adults who have Complex Trauma histories, I have helped guide those with a range of experiences. These include anxiety, depression, life transitions, bipolar disorder, and loss.
I utilize a variety of evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma Informed interventions, and mindfulness techniques.
Trauma-Informed: We can think about trauma as ongoing psychological and physiological distress related to an experience/s. It can present as re-enactments, interpersonal difficulties, vigilance, avoidance, and emotional regulation issues.
Some ways I approach this is through establishing safety and stability, highlighting and developing one’s own resilience, and reintegrating experiences into one’s identity. Memories are often stored non-verbally; one way to explore this is by bringing curiosity to the “felt sense”.
